12 minutes between highway 101 and for those of you heading over across 80 this morning and then the other direction as well southbound 101 the golden gate bridge looking good. just a few cars within camera shots. i have been checking with the chp and fortunately we don't have any incidents to report. >>james: we will beginry you onn menlo park in officer trying to make the rich-tried to help a family found to topplers left in a hospital that does a hotel room with guns. police here reid has the story. >>: in an effort to help a family in need an officer came to this motel to drop off diapers at lightly used clothing for two children that were staying here. but instead of an adult a three year-old answered the door. also in the room was a one- year-old. neither of them do

with their mother was. at least a 33 year-old kendrick smith show 15 minutes later. but during the time the officer was there waiting. >>: he found some drugs and drug paraphernalia as well as pocket knives and where the kids towards were treated things of that nature. things that deep- dish children could possibly harm them with. >>: concerned about safety caused them to arrest smith and charge her with child endangerment. the father was arrested late last week for an unrelated incident. it was during that time that he told the arresting officer about his family's hardships and trying to do a good deed that officer ended up arresting the children's mother as well reporting and running on the park police

your read a kron4 nose. >>mark: >>anny: police in san francisco are investigating what led to a collision that killed a pedestrian in a wheelchair this morning. the crash happened in the city's hayes valley neighborhood in the area of market street and and octavia boulevard

around midnight. police say a car hit a person in a wheelchair. the pedestrian was taken to san francisco general hospital and died. the driver of the car remained at the scene. no word on the identity of the pedestrian. chp officers assisted police with traffic control at the octavia boulevard on rte. 2 south on highway 101. >>james: police are investigating a fatal shooting in san jose. just after 4:00 a.m. on sunday police responded to a man who shot on morris avenue near west san fernandez street. relatives of the victim and man in his '30's, drove him to a hospital where he later died. police say at about 5:15 a.m. police detained suspects and took him into custody. officers are not releasing his name but said the suspect was known to the victim. the death was san jose's 39, of the year.

>>anny:--39th homocide of the yeat. r. a sunken tugboat will be raised from the spot where it has sat near alameda for that its today as part of a two month long clean-up of the oakland estuary. the 105 ft. laud tugboat which has been nicknamed capt. ou al, pose a hazard to recreational sailors and releases contaminants into the environment. the cleanup effort was initially launched at the request of oakland police. the project is being paid for by epa and calrecycle.

police are looking for this man who robbed a walnut creek yogurt shop for the weekend. police said the suspect from the cashier at the tutti-frutti yogurt shop off. blvd. saturday night just before 6:00. the suspect got away with a small amount of cash to the employee was working on at the time and no other customers were in the yogurt shop. the lieutenant j. hill says the employee did the right thing by not try to be a hero. the suspect is described as 5 ft. 9 in. tall with a medium build. he was last seen wearing a dark and it's what you're blue jeans a park tennis shoes a great baseball hat with a black bill and sunglasses. >>anny: new details emerging

by just 45 minutes. shelby lynne cnn atlanta. >>james: new d. tells a security scare that happened aboard a flight had forced sfo. police arrested a man on suspicion of public intoxication after he allegedly made threat to board a jet blew flight from long beach to sfo friday night. one passenger said he screamed " this plane is gonna go down. " once the flight arrived at sfo officers searched the plane and the man's luggage. they didn't find anything suspicious. police escorted the passenger off the plane and booked him into san mateo county jail. >>anny: we will be right back.

one golden gate bridge crystal clear conditions now delays to go lower deck of the bay bridge. >>anny: take a trip back in time. and that's an opportunity many have had for the past two days for me and a heritage weekend. - muni heritage weekend. buses and trolleys dating back to the 1890's line the streets of san francisco. this marked the first muni heritage weekend. officials said they got the idea after munis centennial became so popular last year. and they hope to turn this into an annual event.

but last month governor jerry brown vetoed the bill. many of those attending the gunshot had mixed feelings on the issue. leno says his next step is to talk with the brown administration in order to better understand why his bill was vetoed. >>anny: a bizarre accident snarled traffic on the bay bridge for our sunday afternoon. the chp says a man got out of a car while on the stand and ran into traffic a little after 10:00 a.m.. he was hit by a minivan on the decline in the westbound direction. traffic was blocked for more than a half hour while the scene was cleared but the residual effect was felt for several hours after that. the man was injured in the collision and transported to s f general hospital. no word on his condition. >>maureen: time now is 422.

>>james: welcome back. kron4 news scott rates got a sneak peek at the newsstand of the bay bridge. >>: over the next week we will start to see the very first phase of demolition. >>: the engineers have been steady and the blueprints. that's the first piece of the original stand that will be demolished or dismantled as we like to separate the contractor has been doing a lot of staging and prep work and that includes removing the top couple of inches of asphalt on the upper deck. and if all goes according to schedule next week by dan- tentatively that was our demolish about 14 ft. of the upper deck. by removing the 1,400 ft. that will allow the contractor a 1400's foot gap that they could work through. they have equipment on the bottom that that will

reach up to that gap that can take it back down in reverse order. this is a 77 year-old bridge ended 77 year-old steel and 77 year- old technology that was at least 77 year-old technology if not older used to design this so as you start cutting into the bridge particularly the steel go load and the bearing of ships and other areas. as people are driving areas and the bike and pedestrian paths. they probably won't notice much except for the equipment moving around but there really will not be able to see a whole lot of activity. it's not eye level. there will certainly be able to hear it particularly if you're on the bike and pedestrian paths. >>: and i told this first phase of demolition should take about six weeks. of the next phase will start early next year and that's when they will start moving the big steel truss that tuesday along the bridge. reporters along the old eastern span of the bay bridge scott rates, kron 4 news.

>>james: it is 430. happening right now. these are investigating will lead to a collision from a pedestrian who was in a wheelchair. and happened early this morning in the hayes valley neighborhood. that's where we find kron4's yoli as yoli céspedes live this morning. >>: actually the opening of octavia street and the ramp onto 1 01 has just opened up. it was shut down because a car did hit a pedestrian who was wheelchair-bound. the best thrill was gone through the crosswalk that was hit and unfortunately ended up here on this on ramp. here is video of what we got on the vehicle was out here on the on ramp. investigators say that the pedestrian who was hit is a

male in his early to mid 20's. now when he got struck he was transported to san francisco general ride away where temps were there to treat him but unfortunately that is when that's where he actually died at hospitals. as far as the driver is concerned. not much is known about the driver. i did ask investigators if they thought out what had a plate and this accident but at this point they say is under investigation. they aren't releasing very much information about the driver but they did say the driver is not under arrest at this time. james? >>james: the wrap is open to traffic right? >>: the asp. >>anny: to toddlers' left

gaming casino. in fact, they're going to have 3000 slot machines 150 gaming tables and they expect to see cause of of people poured into this casino starting tomorrow. chp is already warning people that on a daily basis they can expect to see about 10,000 cars coming in and out of this area and that means traffic on 101 and the side streets around this area may be jam packed. there are one people of it already. as i said this has been going on for years out here. the debate back and forward to not wanting to see it. but ultimately the state has been billed for it 340,000 square feet out here. they expect to see thousands of people pointing to this casino. it will be interesting to see what it looks like for the first couple of days. >>darya: with the patterns are for times, i don't know about the casino. all lot of them are 24 hours.
